Corporate Sponsors Want To Give You Money For Your Project

Company Sponsorship Programs Can Finance You!

Do you have a dream or project that you cannot move on because of money? Instead of just giving up or waiting for \”some day\” when you do have more money, you may be able to get help today! In exchange for a little good will, many companies are quite willing to sponsor a variety of projects. If you do not take advantage of corporate sponsorship, then you could be missing out on a simple financial solution that many others are already taking advantage of!

Companies donate money for many different things. Amateur athletes, professional sporting events, research projects, travel, and education are just a few examples. This is not a loan, that you have to pay back. It is, basically, free money, that companies donate in return for a little publicity and good will. Enjoy your dream of promoting an amateur folk music festival or a professional tennis match with the help of corporate checks!

Money For Team or Individual Sports

Teams and individuals obtain corporate money to help sponsor athletics, for instance. Long distance bicycle racers, student soccer teams, and figure skaters are examples of athletes who take advantage of sponsorship money. Companies provide money for training, uniforms, travel, and more. Instead of a team sponsorship, perhaps you would like to host a local golf or tennis match. Perhaps you want the match to raise funds for a charity, or even to make profit for yourself. Either way, companies will sponsor these type of events.

You have certainly seen race cars with corporate names on them. That is because the companies \”sponsor\” the cars. But you do not have to be world famous to obtain a sponsor. Many local and amateur organizations can find willing donors.

Fund Your Next Event

You do not need to hold an athletic event to obtain a sponsor. You could hold a local music festival, beauty pageant, or talent contest! Again, some groups hold these events to fund their activities or raise money for charity. However, some people make a full time living by promoting and organizing events. Imagine, making a living by doing what you really love, and by getting companies to sponsor you! You can learn how to attract eager corporate sponsors, even if you have never done it before!

Money For Education

Many companies provide money for education, and these are called educational sponsorships. The companies may use this sponsorship to promote good will for their business, or perhaps they hope to help train future employees. You can learn how to stay in school, courtesy of a corporate sponsorship. Again, this is donor money, and it is not a loan that you have to pay back! It is often fairly simple to apply for these programs, and the process is already in place to help people just like you if you know how to look for it!

Do Not Give Up On Your Big Idea

A lack of seed money should not make you give up on your dreams or great ideas. Potential authors have found money to fund their books. Scholars find money to finance their research studies. Marathon runners find money to train and travel to their next event. You can step up for sponsor money too!

Visit us to learn how to find a Sponsor who is able and willing to provide a Sponsorship for you big plans! We will teach you how to find a sponsor and make a winning Sponsorship Proposal to finance your dreams.

Why Consider a Wash-A-Thon Car Wash Fundraiser?

This is where you get pledges from people who will give you perhaps anywhere from a penny to $.10 for every car you wash. Member Benefits Of Joining The Association Of Fundraising Professionals

Sunday, October 12th, 2008

In any given community there are a number of physical, mental, emotional, educational and spiritual needs that are being unmet. Generally, these needs are unmet because the needy citizens of that community do not have the resources required to take advantage of those programs offered by for-profit organizations. Therefore, a number of these unmet needs are provided by not-for-profit agencies. Generally, these various not-for-profit agencies provide various services at little or no cost to those who are in need.

Obviously, this is a good thing. However, due to the increase in the number of not-for-profits there is competition amongst the various not-for-profits to raise the needed dollars from their community for support of the services that are provided. To remedy this challenge, often not-for-profits hire fundraising staff that are charged with raising the needed money required to meet the financial needs of the organization.

Fundraising in any given community can be a daunting task. However, one of the associations that helps fundraisers to fulfill their fundraising challenges is the Association of Fundraising Professionals. There are many advantages to being a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. First of all it is important to understand what is the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the benefits that being a member affords. Two of those advantages include learning opportunities and networking.

What Is The Association of Fundraising Professionals

The Association of Fundraising Professionals is comprised of individuals whose job requires them to raise the needed financial resources for the organization that they represent. Generally, fundraising efforts include special events, grants, working with the United Way, corporations, planned giving, major gifts and gifts-in-kind.

These organizations that these fundraisers represent can include not-for- profits, private schools, universities, churches, etc. Also, individuals may be part of the Association of Fundraising Professionals who work as consultants in the fundraising business.

In addition, the structure of the Association of Fundraising Professionals is that each local entity is known as a chapter. As a chapter they are given a specific number that identifies them as an overall chapter member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals. To be a member of this group requires an annual membership fee. Generally this fee provides the member certain benefits. Some of the benefits include access to the national web site, subscription to the Association of Fundraising Professionals magazine and various discounts.

Learning Opportunities

As a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals there are many learning opportunities that are made available. One such learning opportunity is the way that the monthly meetings of the Association of Fundraising Professionals are structured.

Generally, the structure of the meetings allows for a guest speaker to be part of the ongoing education of the membership. Often these educational opportunities address emerging trends in the fundraising world, identifying the contribution habits of donors, new fundraising techniques, etc.

In addition, being a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and attending an extensive course on fundraising will allow for the attending individual to earn the designation of Certified Fundraising Executive. This CFRE designation is highly recognized and respected in the fundraising arena.

Networking

One of the other distinct advantages of being a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals is the opportunity afforded to the members to network. This networking involves sharing with other fundraising professionals those fundraising ideas that have succeeded and challenges that a particular member maybe facing.

An Alternative Means of Small Business Funding

Saturday, October 11th, 2008

Traditionally, businesses in need of financing get bank loans, seek investors or take on partners. A little known, but beneficial alternative to these methods is invoice factoring. A company in need of capital fills out a simple form. A factor reviews the company and then pays cash for pending invoices within a few days.

A factor determines whether or not the process will be beneficial for the company based on the creditworthiness of its customers. The factor purchases the invoices, but holds a reserve amount until the invoices are paid. There is no debt involved in the factoring process.

The factor also acts as collector for customers. This third party intervention can be beneficial not only because it takes the collections burden off a business, but also provides a customer with better invoice terms. Many retailers prefer to work with companies that factor because of these guaranteed terms.

Once a small business establishes an initial relationship with a factor, it is very easy to continue to factor as long as necessary. The business simply sends invoices to the factor and the factor sends working capital back to the business usually in two days or less. Factoring is a way for businesses to take advantage of their assets instantly.

The way cash flows in and out of a growing business can serve to make or break its financial success. Financing is a subject to be closely studied and understood by any business in search of growth. Invoice factoring is a financing option that can foster growth with no risk and no debt. Guaranteed Government Grants
Everyday I speak with at least one person who claims to have found a website with a guarantee for a free government grant. What they want me to tell them is that it is true. Make Money Through Relationship Building: Grant Writing Basics
Grant writing is really a misnomer, because so much of getting a grant has nothing to do with writing, but with relationship building. In my first full-time grant writing job, I learned just how valuable this small step could be: to the tune of $60,000 of unexpected fu...

Use of Flyers for Fundraising Events

Friday, October 10th, 2008

The use of flyers for fund-raising events for nonprofit groups always works well in a small community and it makes sense to print flyers for each and every fund-raising event that you have. It is important to find creative ways to distribute these throughout the community. Any flyer that you print should have a large logo on the front as well as boldface fonts, which state the location, time and date of the fundraising event.

Proper distribution of flyers in advance of a fundraising event could bring as many as 50 extra people to the event. If the fundraiser event is a silent auction, performance or pancake breakfast you will be surprised how well these flyers do. Flyers indeed work very good for carwash fundraisers as well. It has been our experience that flyers work nearly as well as radio advertising for local community fundraiser events.

One thing you might try is to find a local printer who is willing to pay for the printing costs and the paper if you let them advertise on the back. This way they can support your group and also write off the costs of the paper in the printing. It is a win-win situation for them for participating in their local community as it helps the local small business with community goodwill and strong public relations strategies. Perhaps you might consider this tip in 2006.

Database Direct Mail Fundraising - Improve Personalization With Detective Work, Says Consultant

Thursday, October 9th, 2008

Next time you are arrested, pay attention to what information the police officer asks you to divulge immediately. Its not a lot.

Name?

Address?

Date of birth?

These are the three vital questions that every police officer must ask every suspect, or every person of interest, as they are now known. When police officers know your name, address and date of birth, they can find out everything else they need to know about you from their records. Your name, address and date of birth are like your fingerprints. No one else is likely to have the same ones as you.

So learn a tip from your local detectives the next time you examine your donor file. You can personalize your direct mail fundraising appeals in many creative ways when you pay attention to only the name, address and date of birth fields.

NAME
\r Does your donor prefer to be called Miss? That tells you four things right away. Your donor is female. Your donor is likely unmarried. Your donor probably has no children. Your donor is likely younger. If your ask appeals particularly to young, single women, then you know who in your database should receive priority treatment with your mailing.

ADDRESS
\r Are you wanting to increase the size of your database by encouraging your donors to recommend your charity to their neighbours? Then use the address field in creative ways. Dont simply ask, Do you know anyone else who would like to support us? Instead, ask, Do you know anyone else on Wethered Street, or anyone else in Wingham, who would likely support us?

DOB
\r Most older donors who are good prospects for planned gifts and bequests are married or were married. Does that mean single donors are poor prospects for legacy mailings? Not if theyre the right age. So if you have a donor who prefers to be called Miss and who also has a date of birth going back to the 1940s, then your detective work may have uncovered a valuable clue to this donors ability and willingness to consider a planned gift to your organization.

The secret to effective direct mail fundraising isnt your database software. Its your detective work in using that data. Even a four by five index card containing basic donor data contains valuable clues about your donor, provided you ask the right questions.

Learn more about personalizing your appeals by reading 53 Creative Ways to Personalize Your Fundraising Letters, available at www.raisersharpe.com/handbooks.

Flea Market Fundraising

Thursday, October 9th, 2008

Fundraising is a necessary evil for most non-profit organizations such as churches and small ministries. With just a little bit of imagination the ways to fundraise are endless. Ideally you would receive gifts of sponsorship from your supporters and you would never have to fundraise again. But in the real world fundraising is part of life.

One great way to fundraise is to use the garage sale and flea market model and sell or re-sell items for your fundraiser. Your first step to a fundraiser is to gather together items to be sold at the fundraiser.

These items can be baked goods such a cookies and pies or any type of homemade treat. Other items can be found at local flea markets and garage sales. Often times you can pick up items for a great price and re-sell them for a small profit. Online auction or clearing house websites such as eBay and Overstock are also great ways to buy quality merchandise to sell at your fundraiser. When you are shopping online for bulk items watch for specials on shipping, often you can find no cost shipping or reduced shipping.

If your initial planning budget for your flea market fundraiser has ample funds you can order items like t-shirts, mugs and books with your church or non-profit organizations name and information printed on the it. Then you can sell these items as part of your fundraiser. You will find that these are great sellers for those people who actively support your cause and are wonderfully useful to those who are just learning about your mission.

One thing to keep in mind when holding a fundraiser is you will need to advertise. This can often be done with a very low or no cost expenditure. Local newspapers, radio stations and TV stations will often times advertise for your fundraiser as part of there press release program. You can also go with the tried and true word of mouth. Tell everyone who is in any way involved in or interested in your non-profit organization that you will be having a fundraiser. Then have them tell one more person. Your fundraiser will surely be full of prospective buyers before you know it.

If you buy low, sell high and have fun your flea market fundraiser is sure to be a success.

Car Wash Fundraiser Pre-Flyer Announcement Strategies

Wednesday, October 8th, 2008

If you are going to have a carwash fundraiser it makes sense to print up fliers in advance and to hand them out to people around the city. One of the best places to hand out carwash fundraiser fliers will be local small-business people, realtors and companies that sell food items. Perhaps the local pizza place will put your carwash fundraiser fliers on top pizza boxes.

We have noted that many grocery stores will put one inside each bag at the checkout. There are many ways to distribute fliers in advance of your carwash fundraiser and it indeed will bring out many more people.

It is recommended that these carwash fundraiser pre-fliers be printed in a bright color, specifically solar yellow. These fliers should have the logo for your nonprofit group or sports team and the time and date of the carwash fundraiser in bold along with a car or truck graphic as well. Simple and to the point flyers work best with a little graphic work.

Making fliers on a computer these days is very easy and certainly someone in the group can design a flyer rather quickly and take it down to the print shop. Sometimes the print shop will put their logo and small advertisement on the back and therefore print them for free and this might also be something you might consider. Think of this in 2006.

Avoid Formula Approach When Asking Businesses for Gifts With Direct Mail Fundraising Letters

Wednesday, October 8th, 2008

The one thing to remember when asking businesses for donations is that businesses dont give donations. People give donations, and sometimes those people work for or own a business, and donate on behalf of that business.

Keep this in mind when you sit down to draft a fundraising letter for a business or corporation. You are writing to an individual. Even though you are writing to an institutional donor, your letter is going to an individual person who, like you, has a mind and a heart. Your letter needs to reach both.

This means your letter should never be addressed to The President or Business Owner. It should be addressed to an individual by name and job title.

This also means your letter must avoid the formula approach. You must avoid all language that makes your appeal letter sound like its being mailed to every business in your city without exception.

The easiest way to avoid the formula approach is to learn something about the business you are approaching, and include that in your letter. For example, in London, the city where I live and work, Bell sponsors a soccer league for children who have Down syndrome. If I was crafting an appeal letter on behalf of the London Down Syndrome Association, and mailing that letter to someone at Bell, I would mention that Bell already supports this worthy cause.

Another way to avoid the formula approach is to inject enthusiasm into your letter. A business owner or executive will not catch your vision unless you touch that persons emotions.

Making a business case for giving a donation is not enough. You must also stir the feelings of your business reader. The word is passion. Your letter must communicate your enthusiasm in ways that stir the emotions of your reader.

Measure Your Success with Direct Mail Fundraising Letters with Just Four Numbers
A while back I realized that measuring the effectiveness of direct mail fundraising campaigns is a lot easier than Id thought.I was confused by all the formulas and ratios, and was never sure which numbers were more important than the others. I was never sure where I needed to start my ca...

Appealing Fundraising Letters Request More than Donations When Asking for Gifts
The last thing you should ask for in a fundraising letter is a donation. You have no business asking for money until you have first persuaded your donor that you deserve her attention, value her time, appreciate her as a person, and want to partner with her in turning the world upside-down.
